SANDRA HAUSAMAN OBITUARY

I do not leave you behind, but ever present.
My name is Sandra Kay Lofton Hausaman, born June 29, 1956, to Bobby Gene Lofton and Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth McGrew in Vicksburg, Mississippi during the glorious 60s and 70s. I went to Eliza Fox Elementary, Carr Jr and then North Vicksburg briefly during the desegregation period of our little city in the South. Interesting times. There were brave people doing brave things.
After I finished high school, I married Ralph William Stevens, Jr. and we had two children together, the loves of my life: Jonathan and Daniel. I began working at various jobs including my first at the First National Bank where I was part of computer processing.
I divorced and then married Donald Milliken and worked as an Office Deputy at the Warren County Sheriff's Office before moving to Tampa, Florida, in the 1980s, where I completed degrees in real estate and accounting having received my business degree of Accountancy from the Univeristy of South Florida. Additionally, I worked for my step-father, W.T. Touchberry, a prominent Mississippi cotton, soybean farmer, cattleman and Florida commercial real estate and citrus farmer. Those days were tremendous fun.
After my boys graduated, they both joined the military and married so I began a new life for myself. After divorcing, I married David J. Hausaman and we moved to West Virginia where I began my career in hospitalty working at the world renown, 5-star resort, The Greenbrier. Beautiful place to work, amazing days and lifelong friends. David loved it so much he chose to have his ashes scattered in WV.
After losing David to cancer I moved to Hollywood, CA and helped to manage a hotel there for ten years before the pandemic came along and took away most of everything. The days I spent there were incredible. The friends I made from co-workers to tourists, irreplaceable.
To say that any time or person was more important than another would be hard to do. I wanted a "gypsy" life and I got it. My ashes will be scattered where they should be. Mississippi will always be home.
My small, but beautiful family includes: my son, Jonathan Hausaman Joyce and daughter-in-law, Amanda Kroeger Joyce of Los Angeles, CA. My grandson, Trey Holden of Tampa, FL. Brothers Thomas (Georgia) Lofton and Kenneth (Julie) Lofton and nieces and nephews. Step-mother Lou Lofton, sister Stephanie de Guzman, brother Martin Lofton, step-brother Wayne Bell and nieces and nephews all of Indianola, MS.
Predeceased, mother and father, sisters Pamela Faye Lofton (Roger Paul) Lick, Regina Ray Lofton (Shane) Gallaugher and families, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
I will miss all of you so much. Thank you for reading about me and my life.
Goodbye.
