Jason was additionally awarded the Order of St. Maurice from the National Infantry Association for his significant contributions to the United States Infantry. Jason greatly loved fishing, boating, chain-sawing firewood, making wood fires, and spending time with his family and friends at The Farm. Jason was an avid gun collector and hunter. He was enthusiastic about hunting all over the United States, and in Newfoundland and Poland with his family and friends.

Jason was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, soldier, and friend. He was a kindhearted, loving, friendly, hardworking, strong, and outgoing person. Jason always spoke highly of his care team at Penn Medicine, Abramson Cancer Center Perelman, and his family will never forget their kindness and support throughout his fight. He will be missed deeply by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Jason is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (nee Marsico) Carpenter; his two young children; his parents, Jean (nee Filemyr) and Thomas Carpenter; his brother Ryan (Kara) and niece; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
