Preshie. Hmmm. How do I even begin to describe her. Hmm, DIVA comes to mind.

Preshie came to us as a rescue. She had been neglected and very much abused and tortured by the young lady who had owned her. Preshie wasn't a "normal" cat. She didn't purr, she growled. She didn't walk normally and to see her run was a comedy in its self.

To say Preshie loved FOOD is an understatement, as long as it wasn't the dry cat food she was fed. Anything we were eating was up to par for her consumption, or so she thought. She could be sound asleep in another room, but as soon as we popped the lid on that can of cat food, Preshie would be under your feet, trying to trip you and talking up a storm while she was doing it. Preshie loved cheese, we joked that we should have changed her name to "CHEESEHEAD", she also loved, french fries, pringles, cream cheese, chip dip, spaghetti sauce, parmasian cheese, ranch salad dressing, doritos and lettuce. yes preshie would eat salad.

Sadly, in the spring of 2004, we noticed Preshie was getting very very thin, no matter how much we fed her, so a trip to the vet came our way. After two days we had the diagnosis, FELINE LEUKEMIA. (FL is NOT cancer, it is more like the human AIDS virus and is highly contagious to other cats) the vet said it wouldn't be the F L that kills her but a secondary infection, that she wouldn't be able to fight off. WELL, Preshie made it longer than anyone expected, almost 4 years after her diagnosis she was still with us. While I will miss my sweet beautiful talkative Preshie, I KNOW she is waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge and I will one day see her again.

R I P Preshie and always know that you were and are very much loved! xoxooxoxooxo

NOTE: we don't think Preshie had full blown F L, we think she was a CARRIER, like AIDS and HIV. We think that for our other 9 cats all tested negative for the F L virus
