Nancy Murray Abernathy, 76 of Gardendale passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alma Murray; her husband, James Robert Abernathy III and Eight siblings. Survivors include her four children, James Robert Abernathy IV and Stacy Stephens (Bron); two step daughters, Ashlyn Bagwell (Timothy) and Allyson Estes (David); grandchildren, Nicholas Bagwell (Kayla), Noah Bagwell, Brodie Stephens, Marissa Stephens and Lauren Stephens; one sister, Colene Johnston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 beginning at 10AM with Chapel Services at 11AM at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
