Mr. William Paisley Anderson, 84, of #3 Northline Place, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held for Mr. Anderson at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 20, 2000, in Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery, followed by a 2 p.m. Memorial Service in Starmount Presbyterian Church.
William Paisley Anderson was born in Greensboro, N.C., on Nov. 12, 1916, to the late Walter and Martha Dick Anderson. Mr. Anderson was the owner and president of Textile Loom Reed Company of Greensboro, N.C., and Greenville Textile Loom Reed Company of Greenville, S.C. He was also the founder of Anderson Distributing Company of Greensboro. Mr. Anderson was an active member of Starmount Presbyterian Church and a 1933 graduate of Greensboro Senior High School. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, and a member of the O'Henry Kiwanis Club. He was a Scottish Rite Mason for over 50 years, a 32-degree Mason. He was a member of Revolution #552 and the Blue Lodge.
Mr. Anderson is survived by two daughters, Melissa Ritchie and her husband, George of Oxford, N.C., Martha Baker Team and her husband Benjamin of Greenville, S.C.; two sons, William P. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Kathy, and Walter C. Anderson and his wife LuAnne, both of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Robert C. Anderson and his wife, Margaret of Greensboro, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Martha Team Garrison, Frances Elizabeth Team, Benjamin G. Team III, Anna Katherine Anderson, William P. Anderson III, Sara Ritchie Barrett, Martha Elizabeth Ritchie, Walter Carson Anderson Jr., Lee A. Anderson, Owen P. Anderson; and three great-granddaughters.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Martha Nell Carson Anderson on June 25, 2000.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church today.
