Lind Gene Frey, 72, of Chanceford Township passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at York Hospital. He was blessed for 52 years being married to the love of his life, the late Sandra P. (Smeltzer) Frey who passed in 2021 A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00AM, Friday, January 20, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Ronald L. Doverspike. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:00AM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Frey was born on April 2, 1950 to the late Gerald C. Frey and Hazel M. (Spurley) Frey of Red Lion. Lind worked for 31 years as a head custodian/maintenance at Ore Valley then York Township Elementary Schools, where God placed so many wonderful friends in his path, as well as, the little ones that gave him such joy. The school dedicated a special day known as "Lind Frey Day" where children wore flannel shirts and gave him handmade cards! This so touched his heart! Mr. Frey was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He is known for his good sense of humor, integrity, work ethic, love of woodworking and being an avid hunter and fisherman. Lind is a child of God, a loving husband, father and pappa. He leaves two daughters, Michelle Kennedy and husband, Gene, Angela Burks and husband, Jeffrey; one son, Justin Frey and wife, Cheryl; two grandsons, Kevin Kennedy and Bryce Tyson. He also leaves one sister, Syliva Marshall; one brother, Amos Frey and his wife, Elsie; brother-in-law, Ronnie Stiffler, as well as three nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lana Stiffler; brother-in-law, Ronny Marshall and a niece. Lind has been so thankful for all the kindness shown from neighbors and friends. Blink your eyes and the years fly – be still and you can see the love of God in your life…for He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think—This has been true in my life! Today I am with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I am blessed!
