July 20, 1933 – April 22, 2020

Martha Ann Parker Collier passed away at her home in Tubac, Arizona on April 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving sister, brother and cousin. Marty was born on July 20, 1933 in Winkelman, Arizona, the daughter of Forrest and Mary Ann Shartzer Parker. She grew up in Winkelman and after graduating from Hayden High school, moved to Tucson, Arizona to attend the University of Arizona where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Home Economics Education, she moved to Mesa, Arizona to teach at Mesa High School. She completed her master's degree at Arizona State University. It was in Mesa that Marty reconnected with Robert Vassar "Buck" Collier whom she had known at the U of A. They dated and eventually married on June 16, 1957 at Williams Airforce Base where Buck was a Lieutenant in the Air Force.

Marty and Buck eventually settled near Modesto, California where Buck continued running Collier Farms, after the death of his father. In Modesto, Marty was an active member of the McHenry Museum and Historical Society.

Marty was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert Vassar "Buck" Collier; her mother, Mary Cluff and her father, Forrest Parker. She is survived by her son, John Parker Collier (Kris); her grandson, Jacob Collier (Olivia); her granddaughter, Katelyn Collier (Jesus); her sister, Mary Jane Hicks Vaughan (Rich); her sister, Frances Parker Roberts (Neal); her brother William Forrest Parker (Larry); her brother, John Charles Parker (Jan); her cousin Elizabeth Ann Rodarte (Rick) and her two great grandchildren, Jayce and Kamilah.

The family will have a private memorial service on May 21, 2021 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary in Tucson, Arizona.
