Musician. He was born Darren Henley and he was a punk rock musician from 1981 until 2022. He is best remembered as the drummer and backup vocalist for The Dead Kennedys, an influential punk rock band that formed in San Francisco, California in 1978. He was with the group from 1981 to 1986, 2001 to 2008, 2009 to 2022. He joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988, replacing drummer Jack Irons. Due to his ongoing drug and alcohol issues, the band decided to fire Peligro in November 1988. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14, 2012 but Peligro was not inducted with them. In his musical career, he played briefly with The Hellations, Jungle Studs, Nailbomb, The Feederz, Lock-Up, The Two Free Stooges, and SSI. He was the frontman for his own band called Peligro. At one point, he was also frontman for Reverend Jones and the Cool Aid Choir and Al Sharpton's Hair and the Hellions.
