Mrs. Eleanor Bliss Chase, the mother of Pauline Chase, the well-known American actress, died at the sanitarium of Miss Austin, in New York City, last night. Mrs. Chase was born In Washington, and lived here until eight years ago, when she moved to London. She was the wife of Dr. E B. Bliss, a prominent dentist of this city. Mrs. Chase returned to this country last August, and had been in poor health ever since. Miss Pauline Chase, who has been playing In "Our Miss Gibbs," has canceled her engagements in Philadelphia, this week. October 29, 1910 -The Washington Post- Washington, DC · Page 2
