Lake Chelan – Harold M. Watson, 78, Lake Chelan, a pioneer resident of that area and a former Chelan County PUD commissioner, died in a Spokane hospital Wednesday evening following an extended illness.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Jan. 22, 1888, he first moved to Lake Chelan when a small boy.
Following the death of his father, he took over operation of the ranch, which later became Watson's Haverene Resort. He had retired due to illness.
Surviving are: his widow, Lu; four sons, J. Howard Watson, Anchorage, Alaska; Richard Griffith Watson and Robert Harold Watson, both of Chelan, and Daniel David Watson, in the Army stationed at Ft. Gordon, Ga.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
