Nancy Powers Johnson passed away peacefully in her home in Encino, California on April 23. Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania to Marie P. Hughes Powers (9 November 1905 Washington D.C. – After 1940 CA) and Francis "Frank" Michael Powers (26 May 1902 NY – 14 April 1972 CA), Nancy came to California in 1942. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Matthew "Bill" Horrigan (1925 IL – 2 Dec 2001 Canyon Lake, IL Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA), they married 17 June 1950 in Los Angeles County, California, from this union came six children, they divorced; by her second husband, Clarence (Kelly) Johnson (27 February 1910 MI. – 21 December 1990 Los Angeles Co., CA., he was 70, she was 51 when they married 21 November 1980 in Santa Barbara County, California; and her daughter, Mary "Kathleen" Horrigan Winfield (6 July 1951 Los Angeles, California – 24 November 2009 Los Angeles, California), no FAG found.
Nancy is survived by her sister, ___ ___ ___ (___), her brother, ___ ___ Powers (___), her sister, ___ ___ (___), and five children: ___ ___ Horrigan (___); ___ ___ (___); ___ ___ Horrigan (___); ___ Horrigan; ___ Horrigan; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Cabrini Literary Guild, the Cal Tech Associates, the Heritage Society of Mount St. Mary's College, and a benefactor of Holy Spirit Retreat Center and Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank.
Nancy was beloved by her countless friends and cherished by her loving family. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, May 2 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Spirit Retreat Center, 4316 Lanai Rd., Encino 91436. In lieu of flowers, you may honor Nancy's memory with donations to Holy Spirit Retreat Center or Mount St. Mary's College.
Actually burial located is not known, will update as information comes forward. Nancy's father and 2nd husband both buried in this cemetery.
