Hilda Black Goshorn was born December 8, 1921 in Elmore County, Alabama to Milton Bentley Black and Nancy Lois Woods Black. She spent her childhood in Alabama, Nevada, and California. She graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1939 and attended the University of Nevada in Reno. After moving to California with her family she met and married James Leroy Goshorn on November 7, 1945
in Wilmington, California. They moved to Berea, Ohio where Mr. Goshorn worked as an architectural engineer. Then transferred to Houston, Texas with NASA in 1963 and lived in Arlington Heights until moving to Alabama after retirement. They returned to Pearland, Texas in 1989.

Hilda loved sewing and needle crafts of all kinds; she also loved to cook, read, and travel. She loved her family and enjoyed reminiscing about her early years in Alabama with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She had a lively, keen intellect and an outgoing personality.

She was predeceased by not only her husband but also her daughters, Nancy Louise Goshorn Padua and Susan Irene Goshorn Thompson. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Lisa Padua, Tony Padua, Erik Welch, Jill Welch, Alex Thompson, and 3 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Trinity Oaks and Essential Hospice for their dedication and excellent care of their grandmother.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at The South Park Funeral Home Main Chapel with a Funeral Service conducted by Reverend Wendy Heinemann of First United Methodist Church starting at 2:00pm. Rite of Committal will follow.
