Laura Opal Young 86, of Bloomington passed away Monday, January 28, 2008, at Garden Villa of Bloomington. She was born February 15, 1921 in Solsberry to Frank and Vina (Britton) Fowler.

She worked at RCA in Bloomington for 21 years and then 10 years at Chi Omega Sorority at Indiana University. She was a member of the Unionville Church of Christ and the Women's Sewing Circle, the Senior Citizens of Karst Park and the Senior Citizens of Ellettsville.

She is is survived by a step-granddaughter, Cristina Young, and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by nieces and caregivers Virginia Watkins of Bloomfield and Sandra Fowler of Solsberry,

Niece Carol Jackson of Springville, nephews Don Fowler, Larry Sullivan, Jimmy Sullivan, Norman Sullivan, Carl Gilliland, Wayne Musgrave, Dale Musgrave, and Floyd Musgrave, stepdaughter Vera Maguire of Lacombe, LA, sister Alice Ford of Fresno, CA, brother-in-law Bert (Virginia) Combs of Ellettsville, step-grandsons Matthew (Jamie) Maguire, Dennis Houpt, Lowell Houpt, Tracy Houpt, and Roger (Christina) Young.

Mrs. Young is preceded in death by three husbands, Ellsworth Farley, Paul Chitwood and Leslie Young; a brother, Ivan Fowler, four sisters, Fannie McMurry, Mary Gilliland, Maude Sullivan and Thelma Combs.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2008, at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastors Allen Ketchersid and Cletis Ellett will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.
