He was a World War II veteran, having served with the United States Army. He was an active member of the Florence Elks Lodge No. 1858 and the Reedsport Eagles Lodge. He is survived by his son. Ronald F. Johnson of Pocotelle, Idaho; his sisters: Josephine Martinez of San Jose, California and Mrs. G Berryhill of Eugene; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 11 neices and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 30, 1988, at 2:30 p.m. in CHAPEL OF MEMORIES FUNERAL HOME, 3745 West 11th Ave. Eugene. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to FREINDS OF FLORENCE VAN in care of Oregon Pacific Bank, box 22000, Florence, Oregon 97439.
