Funeral service for Mr. Joel L. "Boo Boo" Dillard ,65, of Piedmont, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday
from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Dillard entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, June 25, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Faye Dillard, and a son, Joshua Dillard.

Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Dillard are his wife, Teresa Dillard; his daughter, Teia Gilbreath (Ryan), his sons; Justin Dodson (Jennifer), Buck Dillard, his grandchildren; Ethan Rubin, Harrlie Waters, Kayden Hyde, Branna Dodson, Charles Dodson, Wyatt Boyzo, Carter Barnes, brother, Mike Dillard, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dillard worked at the steel plant from 1970 until it closed. He then went to work at Goodyear until he retied as a machinist. Mr. Dillard loved to write songs and playing the guitar, but most of all enjoyed making people laugh.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Hospital or Children's Hospital Birmingham , AL.
