Barbara Lou Swanson 72, died Aug 10 in Newhall, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Swanson was born Aug 28, 1928, in Jamestown, NY and resided in Newhall. She was volunteer at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Swanson was preceded in death by her husband Donald C Swanson and her son Richard Swanson.

She is survived, by daughter, Elizabeth Phillips of Placerville, Tina Howard of Canyon County, Patty Guilmette of Newhall, her son David S Swanson of Oxnard and Bruce Swanson of Canyon County, her sister Kathleen Carlson of Sonoma, Mary Hines, of Raleigh, NC., and Sue McMurtry of Winchester, Virginia, her brother Dick Olson of Burnet, Texas and her aunt "Sister" Mary Austin of Buffalo New York.
Services will be Wednesday at 9am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Her family wrote: "she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who devoted her life to her family"
