Anthony was the son of Jack Adams and Dorothy Lee Frazier Adams. His family relocated to the Atlanta, Georgia area in 1965, then eventually settled in Decatur, Georgia. He was educated in the DeKalb County School System and was a graduate of Decatur High School in Decatur, Georgia. He attended Dekalb Community College. He was employed with Pep Boys and Stovall as a Service Advisor. He started playing the violin, but later fell in love with the drums. He joined the First Light Band and played with other bands until he became disabled. He was a member of the Thankful Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia.

He was married to Judy Price Adams, they had 2 children. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Jack Casears "Sears" Adams, maternal grandparents, June Frazier and Annie Frazier and paternal grandparents, Jimmy Adams and Clara Adams.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11AM in the Big Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Unadilla, Georgia.
