Mary Gail Hale, 80, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, March 11,
2015 in Birmingham, AL. She is survived
by her son Thomas Hale (and daughter-
in-law Karen Hale) of Sugar Land, TX;
daughter Jennifer Hale Teed (and son
in-law Randall Teed) of Birmingham,
AL; three grandchildren Grant Hale,
Morgan Hale, and Carter Hale of Sugar
Land, TX. She is preceded in death by
her husband of 55 years, Dr. John F. Hale
(2012). Mary was born February 13, 1935
in Chicago, IL. In 1970, Mary made her
home in Durango, Colorado where she
raised her family. Her husband, Dr. Tohn
Hale, was a professor in Psychology and
Business at Fort Lewis College for many
years. Mary Graduated with a BS in
Biology from Fort Lewis College in 1982.
Mary loved the climate and the outdoor
activities associated with living in
Southwestern Colorado. In 2008, after 38
years in Durango, Colorado, the Hale's
moved to Alabama to be closer to family.
Mary was known for her generosity,
kindness, and willingness to help others.
She had a love for all animals and a fun-
seeking personality. Mary was much
loved and will be greatly missed by
family and friends. A celebration of her
life will be held on Saturday, June 20,
2015 from 2-5pm at Ridout's Valley
Chapel in Homewood, AL.
