Peter Myron Hunt, 66, of Atascadero died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Atascadero First Assembly Church.

Mr. Hunt was born July 14, 1936, in Annapolis, Md. He attended Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in Burbank and Roswell New Mexico Military Institute. He studied at San Diego State University for one year and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Mr. Hunt also served on board a submarine for the U.S. Navy for several years. Mr. Hunt moved to San Francisco where he attended the University of San Francisco and worked as a cable car brakeman, sandal maker, cab driver and also played guitar. There he met and married Ann. The couple had two daughters, Katharine and Elizabeth. Mr. Hunt moved to Atascadero in the 1960s and enjoyed playing guitar and giving lessons. He attended Cuesta College and trained to become a psychiatric technician at Atascadero State Hospital in 1986. He worked there until his retirement in 1991. During his retirement, Mr. Hunt enjoyed woodworking and worked for Bucket of Books.

Mr. Hunt is survived by his children, Vicky; Alex; and Nathan, all of Atascadero; sisters, Eleanor Tucker of San Diego; and Ransom Carver of San Diego; and numerous nieces and nephews. His sister, Virginia of Hawaii; and nephew, Paul, died with him.
