Archambeault Missing in War
Northampton, July 9 – Pvt. Richard J. Archambeault, son of Mrs. Adeline Archambeault of 49 Walnut St., has been missing in action since last November, according to word received by his mother from the Defense Department.
A native of this city, Pvt. Archambeault, 19, was educated in the local schools and entered the Army little more than a year ago.
No further information was available today relative to the action in which the young soldier was involved.

Archambeault Listed as Dead
Northampton, Jan.4 - Sgt. Richard J. Archambeault, son of Mrs. Adeline Archambeault of 49 Walnut St., who left this country in August 1950 for duty in the Korean War, has been listed as a casualty in the conflict, according to word received from the Department of the Army. Sgt. Archambeault, assigned to a bazooka company with the United Nations troops, had been listed as missing in action since Nov. 2, 1950.
Sgt. Archambeault enlisted in the Army on Nov. 1, 1948, and received his basic training at Fort Dix. He completed training in the leader's training course and was assigned as an instructor in Army methods and procedures to new inductees. Two of his brothers are also Korena War Veterans and a brother is stationed in Belletontaine O. Besides two other brothers and his mother, Sgt. Archambeault leaves three sisters.
