Bessie May Bennett of Fairton passed away Wednesday January 5, 2022 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland after a brief illness. She was 66 years old. Born in Bridgeton April 27, 1955, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Caroline B. Sutton Bennett and the long time companion of Donald Carter who passed away in August of 2020.
Bessie was a lifetime resident of the Fairton area and was a long time employee of the former Coastal Mart and now Sunoco convenience store. She also worked for many years as a Cafeteria Aide for the Fairfield Twp. School Board. She was always seen with a smile and loved country line dancing. She also loved camping and spoiling her grandchildren whom she loved deeply.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Michelle Bennett Hymer, Donna L. Carter, Evelyn Bennett Marlette, Daniel Bennett, and John Bennett, two sisters, Sara Welden and Rebecca Stiles, her eight grandchildren, John D. Bennett, Joey Veight, Richard P. Hymer Jr., Caroline Hymer, Deztiny Figueroa, Daniel Bennett Jr., Liam Marlette, Weston Marlette, and Ronald Bennett whom she raised like a son and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and companion Donald, she was predeceased by her brother James Bennett.
Family and friends are invited to a walk thru visitation on Saturday January 15, 2022 from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm from the Sray-Webster Funeral Home. Face masks or covering is required regardless of vaccination status.
