Mary Bynum married William Asberry Fowler and they had eleven children which they raised in Rabun County, GA.
During the Civil War, Mary Bynum Fowler hid her children in a cave to keep them from being discovered by Union forces. She had to provide for the family while her husband, William Asberry Fowler, was serving in the Confederate Army.
