Died, in this city, Friday evening, November 17, 1871, Geo. F. Elbert, aged 22 years and 29 days.

Mr. Elbert came to Colorado in the fall of 1869. Too close application to study had seriously affected his health, and he sought in our dry and bracing climate, restoration to his original strength and vigor. In this he was successful, and he at the same time continued his studies in the law office of his brother, Hon. Samuel H. Elbert, of this city.

Thinking his health fully restored, Mr. Elbert went to Germany to complete his education, but he was again obliged to leave his books and return to Colorado, where he hoped to regain his failing strength.

Arriving here a few months ago, he received a warm welcome from his former friends; but he came too late. His decline was gradual, but fatally sure, and on Friday evening he breathed his last, having been kindly and affectionately cared for and watched over by his brother during all of his long illness.

He has gone, however, and will be known no more among those who loved and respected him. He has fallen early in life; but for those who mourn his loss it will be a pleasure to think that he has not lived in vain, for he has left behind him a character which can never be less than a model for the young men of our land.

The funeral services will take place this (Sunday) afternoon, at 2 o'clock, from the residence of ex-Governor Evans, corner of E and Arapahoe streets.
