Since our last issue Miss Sarah F. Davidson has passed away aged 88. Miss Davidson was the oldest native born person in Charlotte and she and this city had grown from infancy together. For in her childhood the present Charlotte was little more than an old field. Miss Davidson was the daughter of the Hon. William Davidson formerly member of Congress from this district. Few of her contemporaries remain, but those that do together with the young are conscious of a great void caused by the death of this noble christian woman.
