Abstract artist. Charlotte was the younger daughter of the acclaimed documentary filmmaker Humphrey Jennings. She grew up in London but spent some of her youth in New York and Paris, and became a committed Francophile. She studied at the prestigious Slade School of Art, winning a number of prizes there, and several of her works are now in the UCL Art Museum. Commissions included murals for Associated Electrical Industries, fabrics for Courtaulds, and graphics for British Transport Films. In addition to exhibiting her painting and printmaking, she also created and directed a short animated film 'The Big Hit' (1980) about a cricket ball's journey through space.

She was married first to the composer Richard (Tony) Arnell, and second to record producer and broadcaster Kevin Daly. In 1982 they relocated to Australia and Charlotte remained there for most of the next two decades, initially in Bondi and later settling in Fremantle on the west coast, whose heat and brightness infused her artwork. On retiring back to Britain her love for the sea led her to Newhaven, where she lived overlooking its harbour.
