Gloria passed away in Duncan, B.C., where she lived with her husband Richard Brookes Bird since 1972.
Daughter of Thomas R., and Ethel M. (Keedwell) Fyfe, Gloria was born in Vancouver and educated at Quilchena Elementary, Point Grey Junior High and Magee High schools and UBC.

At age 19, she married Richard and supported him during his army service in Vancouver, Nova Scotia, Alberta and Korea, and throughout his legal career in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island.
Gloria raised her young family in Kerrisdale and the family island cabin in Howe Sound.

Later she enjoyed country life in the Cowichan Valley where she ran a sheep farm and worked at Richard's labour arbitration practice.

Gloria had a sharp wit, a keen eye for style and a passion for murder-mystery novels and science fiction movies.

Besides her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her twin sister Dianne King, and brother in-law Donald King.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke BC.
