Vicki was born Dec. 17, 1927, to Tressa and Dominic Rodi. After graduating from Clearfield High School, she joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and met and married a Marine, William Edward Shuck. Tragically, just seven months later, he was killed in Korea. Vicki went to Washington, D.C., to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for her husband's heroism from then Vice President Richard Nixon. She returned to California and lived with a very good friend whom she met while in the Navy, Sylvia Ribas Garrison. She was employed by Pacific Bell until her retirement.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Eugene Rodi.
Survivors include sisters, Mary Spinella of San Diego, Francis Rodi of Clearfield, Pa., and Palma Smith of Ambridge, Pa.; and brothers Jack Rodi and Sam Rodi, both of Clearfield, Pa.
Locally she will be missed by the Ventura County Medical Center Auxiliary, where she volunteered and had many friends; and at Community Bible Study, where she served as a children's teacher and also had many friends, big and small. She will especially be deeply missed by her niece Marisa "Misa" Pitman and her children, Jenn and Jason, Greg and Kelly, Jacob, Isaac and Brenna, Maggie, Abbie and Amie Victoria.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Charles Carroll Funeral Home, Ventura.
