LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP)— Mrs. Hortense Bowersock Hill, 89, died in a hospital Sunday. She suffered a hip fracture two weeks ago. Her husband, Irving Hill, is president of the Lawrence National Bank and a director of the Union National Bank of Kansas City. Her father, the late J. D. Bowersock, built a dam, a power plant and mill on the Kansas River at Lawrence, founded a paper firm and box factory, served three terms in Congress, was a state legislator and mayor of Lawrence. Besides her husband, Mrs. Hill is survived by a son, two daughters, two sisters, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held in Lawrence Tuesday.**

**Oak Hill Cemetery --which is where the majority of Bowersocks, Hills, and related from this era are buried in Lawrence-- has no record of a burial for Hortense. But services definitely occurred in Lawrence, so instead of burial, she may have been cremated.
