David Bernard Glass, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Friday Dec. 15, 2017 at his home in Magalia, CA with his wife and family at his side. David was 80 years old.
David was born Dec. 21, 1936 to David H. and Martha M. Shaw Glass. He was born in Blair County, PA and grew up in Cambria County, PA. He attended South Fork Croyle High School, but graduated from Torrance High School in Torrance, CA. where he also attended El Camino Community College.
David married the former Bonnie Patterson, daughter of George and Genevieve Bunton Patterson on March 30, 1957 in Summerhill, PA. They moved to Inglewood, CA in 1959. They raised five wonderful children; Valerie married to Mark Day, Mona married to Bob Stoltey, Dennis married to Laurel Bond, David married to Peggy McHenry, and Clifford, no longer married. They have 14 beautiful grandchildren; Bill married to Stephanie Kerekes, Desirae married to Corbin Goggia, Shannon, Kyle partner of Samantha Marmion, Clifford partner of Corrine Sutter, Danyel partner of Gavin Favors, Heather, Genevieve engaged to Jordon Carter, Jeanene married to Rene Perez, David engaged to Chelsea Lauren, Steven partner of Kaitlynn Peake, Wyatt, Vincent and Stuart. They have 14 of the most special great-grandchildren. Dyllan, Marlee, Ava, Natalia, Max, Bonnie, Jasper, Vivian, Jordon, Lily, Mason, Isabella, Hailey and Eli.
David worked for 32 years in the aerospace industry as a quality control and plant manager. He was very involved in Carson Little League for many years and served as President for six years. This was a big part of his, Bonnie's, and the children's lives. They all made many lifelong friends from that time in his life.
David had a very full and happy life surrounded by his wonderful family that he loved with all his heart. Family was the most important thing to him. He loved to go camping, fishing with his wife's Mom and Dad, dunebuggying, traveling in his RV's with Bonnie all around the country, and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed as he was a very, very special and loving person.
