AMORY, Jean Douglas Moore, age 92, died peacefully in Vero Beach, FL, on January 17th. She was born May 27, 1921, in Bronxville, New York. Daughter of Bertha Stone Moore and Thomas Channing Moore, she attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, CT. Her first marriage, to Francis B. Trudeau in 1942, ended in divorce in 1959. She later married Harcourt Amory, Jr., on September 15, 1960. He predeceased her in 2006. Jean was the co-owner of an antique shop in New York City, and another in Bedford, NY. She was on the Board of the Blair House Restoration during the Kennedy Administration. She also served on the Board of the Hospital for Special Surgery for over 25 years and was a member of the City Mission Benefit Board.
A devoted mother, Jean is survived by her daughter Jeanne Trudeau Fenn and her husband, Henry Fenn, her son Garry Trudeau and his wife, Jane Pauley Trudeau, her daughter Michelle Trudeau and her husband, Steven Potkin, and her stepdaughter Dita Amory Nickson and her husband, Graham Nickson. She is also survived by six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will greatly miss their beloved Baba.
A service in her memory will be held at St. Mark's Church in Vero Beach at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 25th, with a reception to follow at the Oak Harbor clubhouse.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or St. Mark's Church, P.O. Box 6994, Vero Beach, FL 32961.
