Funeral services for James Richard Woods, 71, were held on April 15, 2000 at Mt. Salem M. B. Church. Mr. Woods died on April 10, 2000 of cardiac arrest at Choctaw County Medical Center.
He was a member of Mt. Salem Missionary Baptist Church, a retired machinist with Belwood Corp. and was currently employed with the forestry service in Ackerman.
Survivors include daughters Faye Sardin of Biloxi, Debra White and Angie Robinson of Ackerman; sons, James A. Woods and Jeffery Keith Woods of Ackerman; sisters, Nora Chapman of Jasper, Ala, Isabelle Carter of Steele, MO., Ruby B. Coleman and Jewel Dotson of Ackerman; brother, Roscoe Woods, Ackerman; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rev. A. J. Harrell officiated at the service with burial in Enon Cemetery of Ackerman. Beck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
