SOLOMON PETERMAN 91 of TOMS RIVER, father of Roberta Peters Fields, the Metropolitan Opera soprano, died yesterday at home. He was a manager with Roman Shoe Co., New York City, for 10 years, retiring 20 years ago. He was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel, Toms River, and B'nai B'rith. He was a dear sweet person who loved his family dearly and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed tremendously but will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.

Born in in New York City, he lived there before moving to Toms River 27 years ago. His first wife, Ruth Hirsch Pe-terman, died in 1972; and his second wife, Sarah Wallach Gordon Peterman, died in May. Surviving are a daughter, Roberta Peters Fields of Purchase, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Judith Gordon Cook of Alpine, and Linda J. Sclarow of Toms River; two grandchildren, Bruce and Paul Fields; four great-grandchildren, Julie Robin, Jessica and twins Remy and Noah Fields; five step-grandchildren, Dr. Gabriel Cook, Benay Taub, Jonathan Cook, Andrea Sclarow and Benjamin Sclarow; and six step great-grandchildren, Matthew, Eliana, Joshua, Kian, Samarah and Darian.

A funeral will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Congregation B'nai Israel, 1488 Old Freehold Road, Toms River. Interment will be in Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to Congregation B'nai Israel or the American Cancer Society. Belkoff-Gold-. stein Funeral Chapel, Lake-wood, is in charge of arrangements.
