Clarence James Dillion
was born in Weiser, Idaho on November 9, 1907. He was the son of James Monroe Dillion (1869-1937) and Ibbie Roller Dillion (1870-1933). Both James and Ibbie were born and raised in Scott County, Virginia. It was not uncommon for family members of Southwestern Virginia to travel to Idaho and Oregon in the early 20th century seeking adventure and work. Clarence J. Dillion spent much of his youth between a life in Scott County, VA/Kingsport, TN and in Idaho tending sheep.

In 1931, at the age of 21, he married Anna Thompson but this marriage ended in 1934 with no known children. On August 20, 1942, at the age of 35, he answered the call to join the war effort and enlisted in the army serving as a military policeman (MP) in the European Theatre attached to the 5th Army of the North. He was honorably discharged at Ft. Oglethorpe, GA in 1945 and returned to Kingsport, TN,

In Kingsport, Tennessee, he drove for Gilliam Taxi for several years following WWII. Returning to Idaho around 1950, he met Millie Lavina Beeson Nash while working for Union Pacific railroad and she at the Trailways bus station in Weiser.

Clarence and Millie had two children: Clarence Joey born May 12, 1953 and Cheryl JoDell born October 14, 1954. Clarence James Dillion died at the age of 83 in St. George , UT on July 15, 1990.

His grandparents, all from Scott County, VA were: Elisha Fulton Dillion (1842-1916), a veteran of the 48th Virginia Infantry CSA, his wife Louisa Tyree Dillion (1845-1870) and Jacob Roller (1832-1935) a veteran of the 24th Missouri AUS, his wife Letty Margaret Neeley Roller (1844-1914).
