Isaac died in the 1902 Boxing Day disaster. A passenger train and heavy freight train collided due to a frozen switch on the rails. This is still considered one of Canada's worse rail disasters, with 32 injured and 28 dead. Isaac was returning from his brother Beverly's funeral.
