Mrs. Jane Mitsuko Iwashita Yonamine, 86, of Torrance California, born in Kamuela Hawaii, the third of five children to Paul and Kameyo Iwashita, passed away Monday surrounded by family. Jane grew up in Hawaii but moved to Japan after her marriage to Wally Yonamine, the first American to play professional baseball in Japan after World War II. Jane created her own legendary career by being the first American business woman to have a successful pearl business in the heart of Tokyo, Japan since 1964. She was a loving and immensely generous matriarch.

Jane is survived by her sister, Dorothy Seki; three children: Amy(Ted) Roper, Wallis (Dennis) Yamamoto and Paul (Lynda) Yonamine; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at Diamond Head Memorial Park in Honolulu, Hawaii on February 4, 2017. In lieu of flowers and gifts her family requests donations made to: The Wally Yonamine Foundation Azure Financial 900 Fort Street Mall #1710 Honolulu, HI 96813
