Mrs. Alice R. Whittaker, wife of O. D. Whittaker, who for many years conducted a barber shop in Jasper, died at Kansas City on New Year's Day, of a complicated brain disease. Her death occurred at the German hospital, where she had been taken for treatment. The Whittakers were residents of Jasper for about 15 years, moving to Kansas City three years ago. Mrs. Whittaker was 54 years old. She was a prominent worker in the Presbyterian church while here, and had many friends. Interment was had at Elmwood cemetery, Kansas City.
