Michael was originally from Northern California and relocated to Cassville for the second time in 2013. He was born in Scotia, California on February 28, 1955 to Nora (Petersen) McCorkle and Billy McCorkle.
Upon graduating high school he enlisted into the United States Navy where he served his country proudly. On February 14, 1981 he was united in marriage to Valerie Meyer in Stirling City, California. They went on to have two children; Trent McCorkle and Justine McCorkle.
Mike worked as a Machinist most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and dirt bike riding.
Mike loved his family dearly and enjoyed the special moments spent with his grandchildren Taylor and Tucker. He was always involved in their activities and he was their biggest fan. Mike was a friend to all that knew him and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, Valerie McCorkle of Cassville; one son, Trent McCorkle and his wife Julie of Cassville; one daughter, Justine McCorkle of Edmond, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Taylor and Tucker of Cassville; his mother Nora McCorkle of Paradise, California; his mother-in-law, Ann Meyer of Stirling City, California; sister-in-law Lorrie Surratt and her husband Roger of Wheatland, California; sister-in-law, Gayle Loberg of Stirling City, California.
