Spencer, TN-Kathy Gale Nivens, age 64, passed away Wednesday September 16, 2020 at Hospice of Cumberland County in Crossville, TN. A Crossville resident and a Lafayette, IN native where she was born on September 10, 1956 to the late Clyde Bee and Nettie Fern Rice Short. Kathy worked for many years in a nursing home in food service.

In addition to her parents Kathy was preceded in death by husband Tracy Wayne Nivens.

Kathy is survived by her daughter; Alicia (Eric) Mooneyham, granddaughter; Cora Mooneyham, brother; Tom (Cheryl) Short, sister; Donna (Randy) Alsup, Alicia’s father; Allen Payne, step-sons; Mike (Shirley) Payne and Doug Payne, step-daughters; Bobbie Jo (Bill) Baker and Christy Sturgeon. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and several step-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 19, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with R. C. Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
