It is unknown exactly where or when Jane died. She shows on the 1840 census in Rives County and still living in the Tebo township. The farm was sold that year and it is believed that she moved on to live with son Matthew as that is the family who owned the family Bible for many years and it would have been in Jane's possession at the time of her death. She is most probably buried with Matthew and his family who lived in Calhoun. When Jefferd's wrote his book on Capt. Matthew Arbuckle he listed Jane as having died in 1825 in Christian County, KY but this was an error. It was actually her mother, Jane Davis, who died then and there.

Jane was the daughter of John Davis and Jane Clendenin of Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
