Our families greatest gift has left.
Mom was a wise, caring, skillful lady. Her service to God, deep devotion to Dad, her dear children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was an inspiration.
As the story goes, Dad had to convince Mom to marry him. They were wed on June 16, 1956. Mom began to travel the world soon after Dad joined the Navy. When she wasn't busy visiting or entertaining in person, she spent hours on the phone connecting with friends and family near and far.
Mom wore many hats. In addition to raising her family, she worked outside the home, cheered at sporting events, enjoyed sewing, shopping, learned Italian, woodworking, and painting. It is impossible to mention them all.
Mom had a passion for life. She believed in giving back to her community by volunteering with the Red Cross. She had many friends of all ages, and enjoyed and valued each and every one of them.
Mom was brave and resilient. As life happened Mom acknowledged her setbacks and health struggles by moving forward. She was always happiest with people around.
Mom's siblings, their families, Dad's family, our Italian family, remained important and she kept in touch with all of them.
Recently at her home at Rising Mountains she enjoyed outings, listening to music, molding with clay, and playing Bingo and Farkle. Mom was crowned the Farkle Champion more than once.
Mostly, Mom loved her family. She never missed a special event.
We, as would Mom, would like to thank the compassionate staff of Rising Mountains in Bigfork, Montana.
A private inurnment ceremony to honor Mom will be held Monday August 31, 2020 at Yellowstone National Ceremony in Laurel, Montana.
