Actress. She is best remembered for her recurring portrayal of Jane Hogen, the companion of the prestigious Alexandra Spaulding, in the soap opera "Guiding Light." After beginning her career in local theater in her native St. Paul, Minnesota, starring in such productions as "Once Upon a Mattress," "Dinner at Eight," "A Murder is Announced," and "The Importance of Being Ernest," she relocated to California in the late 1970s to begin a career in film and television making her official debut in the made for TV movie "Second Case" (1980). For the next 3 decades, she went onto enjoy a successful career as a character actress often portraying wives, mothers, old maids, neighbors, secretaries, school teachers, nurses, librarians, and housekeepers in such sitcoms as "Full House," "Mama's Family," "Frank's Place," "Murphy Brown," "Day by Day," "Peter Gunn," "Murphy Brown," "Quantum Leap," "Murder, She Wrote," "Life Goes On," "Dear John,"His & Hers."
