Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker and a member of the Wharncliffe Church of God at Wharncliffe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arch Adkins and two brothers, James and Raymond Miller.
Survivors include three sons, Roger Adkins of Radford, Va., Cole Adkins of Cross Lanes, Wesley Adkins of Coal Mountain; a daughter, Freda M. Brown of Charleston; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and three sisters, Mildred ‘Toots” Browning of Wharncliffe, Louise Piskorowski of St. Louis, Mo. and Kathleen Simpson of Imperial, Mo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, with Rev. J.C. Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Mounts Funeral Home, Gilbert.
