He was born April 15, 1930 at Hazelgreen, WV, the son of the late Elias C. and Daisy Wadsworth Byrd. Ronald was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Dupont, Washington, WV. Ronald loved watching sports, mostly football which was his favorite. He was Methodist by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Joanna M. McGill Byrd; children, Cheryl L. Echard of Parkersburg, Steven R. Byrd (Tammy) of Harrisville and Sharon L. Mason (Roger) of Burnt House; sister, June Conrad of OH; brothers, Lendel Byrd of OH and Ken Byrd of FL; grandchildren, Leslie Jones, Erica Echard and Andrea Wood all of Harrisville, Matthew Byrd of Morgantown, Jeremy Byrd and Aaron Byrd both of Harrisville, Jonathan Mason, Joshua Mason and Jared Mason all of Burnt House; great-grandchildren, Chaslyn Jones, Remington Jones, and Brynlee Mason.

He was preceded in death by daughter Reta A. Byrd; brothers, Leonard Byrd and Leon Byrd; and sisters, Norma Conrad and Lois Byrd.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Hazelgreen Cemetery with Pastor Jim Eakle officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulloughRaiguel.com. Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville handled the arrangements.
