The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Steckler was born March 18, 1910, in York. He was the son of the late Carl A. and Bertha M. (Slusser) Steckler.
He retired from Associated Wholesale Grocery in 1977 after 47 years of service, 27 years as assistant manager. He was a 1929M graduate of William Penn Senior High School. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 55 years, member of Knights of Columbus, charter member and past president of Optimist Club of York and a member of Cotillion Club for 35 years.
Mr. Steckler also is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Anderson of Westfield, N.J., and Stephanie L. Seidner of Gwynedd, Montgomery County; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Officiating at the service will be his associate pastor, the Rev. Robert E. McCreary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York 17403.
