Princess Antonia Roberte Sophie Wilhelmine of Luxembourg was the fourth daughter of Guillaume IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who reigned between 1905 and 1912, and his wife, Marie Anne of Braganza. She was married on April 7, 1921 at Schloss Hohenburg in Lenggries, Bavaria, to Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria, as his second wife.

She and her husband were opponents of the Nazi regime and were forced into exile in Italy in 1939 and later to Hungary. When Germany occupied Hungary in October 1944, Antonia and her children were captured, while Rupprecht evaded arrest as he was still in Italy. She and her children were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen. They were moved to Dachau concentration camp in early April, 1945, but were liberated that same month. The ordeal led her to vow never to return to German soil.
