Daughter of Nathaniel "Nathan" Smith and Elizabeth Dallam Smith. Married on 5 October 1778 to Archer Hays. Hannah Smith Hays mother was Elizabeth Dallam, daughter of Richard and Elizabeth "Betty" nee' Martin Dallam. Elizabeth Dallam was 1st married to Samuel Webster in 1726 and after his death she remarried to Nathaniel G. Smith in 1752.

1. Thomas Archer Hays [1780-1861] married to Elizabeth Jones.

2. John Archer [1783-1847] John did not marry.

3. Pamelia Barney Hays [ 1783-1863] Pamelia married to Judge Stevenson Archer .

4. Elizabeth Smith Hays [1786- 1817] married to Abraham Jarrett.

5. Nathaniel William Smith Hays [1789-1863] married 1st to Mary Lorman Fullford, 2nd Marriage to Maria C. Mitchell who was married 1st to a Fullford. Maria was the daughter of Alexander Mitchell and Elizabeth Torrance. Both Nathaniel and Maria C Mitchell Hays are buried in Greenmount Cemetery, Baltimore.

6. Harriet Barney Hays [1795-1872] Twin to brother, Henry H. B. Hays. Harriett did not marry.

7. Henry "Harry" Barney Hays aka Henry H. B. Hays [1795 -1838 ]. Harry was in the US Army and moved to what was then the Mississippi Territory; settling in what is now St. Stephen, Washington Co., Alabama. He married abt. 1816-1817 to Sarah Maria Fisher [1798-1818] the daughter of Colonel George Fisher and Catherine Sossaman Fisher. Sara Maria Fisher Hays died 16th April 1818 age 19 yrs, 8m. 11 days. Harry and Sarah's baby son, born 1 April 1818 and died the same day was buried with his mother Sarah Maria in what was the garden of the old Col. George Fisher home, now long gone which is part of the ghost town of St. Stephens Historical Park. See Find A Grave # 95503709. Henry then remarried to Arabella Dupree and had issue.

8. Mary Ann Hays [1797-1826 ] Married to the Rev. Reuben Davis of Bel Air, Harford Co., Md.

9. William Smith Hays [1799 -1848 ] Married to Sarah MacBeth. William died in Claiborne County, Mississippi and was buried there.
