She was born on September 19, 1928 in Noble County to the late William and Dollie (Church) Wheeler.
She is also preceded in death by her first husband William Lanning and second husband Floyd Gilcher, 2 sons Dave and Mike Lanning, a sister Evelyn McWilliams, and 2 brothers Gerald and Melvin Wheeler.
She was a member of Stop 9 Church of Christ, life member of VFW Post 2901, and member of the Moose Lodge. Shirley is survived by a daughter Theresa Laird of Texas, 4 sons William (Betty), Chuck, and Melvin Lanning all of Cambridge, and Robert (Carol) Lanning of Indiana, a sister Sue Ruggles Atto of Cambridge, and a brother Ronald Wheeler of Texas.
No calling hours will be observed, private graveside services and burial will take place in Buffalo Cemetery.
