John L. Adams Jr., 76, of Buffalo Township, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007, in the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late John L. and Helen (Stubinger) Adams Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. John was a truck driver for 40 years at the former K&C Beverage Company, Tarentum, and he also worked for six years at Medrad in Indiana Township. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot, life member of the Brackenridge American Legion Post 226, the Eagles in Tarentum and the M.O.R.A. Club. John enjoyed bowling, camping and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice (Bartsch) Adams; a son, Charles (Marsha) Adams, of Troy, Mich.; a daughter, Patricia (Richard) Marciniak, of Lower Burrell; five grandchildren, Eric Adams, Nicholas Adams, Jessica Adams, Gerri (Victor) Frank and Karen (Derek) Clark; three great-grandchildren; and his cousin, Bernard Adams, of Lower Burrell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Sutton. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688, where a blessing service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The Brackenridge American Legion will hold a memorial service 2:30 p.m. Monday. The M.O.R.A will hold a service 4 p.m. Monday, both in the funeral home.
