MYRTLE LOUISE PARKINSON, 90, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield where she had been a resident for the past year.

Born in Crisfield on August 15, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Lucious and Mamie Pestridge Lewis. Her husband, Daniel L. Parkinson, Sr. died August 15, 1987.

She was a homemaker and formerly worked in housekeeping at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield. She was also a clerk at the former McCrory's Department Store in Crisfield.

She was a charter member of the Church of God in Crisfield, where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed singing duets with her sister. She was also an avid reader.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, J.P. Parkinson and his wife Rita of Crisfield; a step-son, Daniel L. Parkinson, Jr. of Georgia; four grandchildren, Daniel, Darin, Joshua and Jordan Parkinson; a brother, Lawrence E. Lewis, Sr. and his wife Rae of Milford, Delaware; a Brother-In-Law, John Laird of Crisfield; and several nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ada Laird; and her step-daughter, Shirley Parkinson.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be held Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2 PM at Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield. The Rev. Philip Morris will officiate. Friends may call Saturday from 12-1:30 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. There will be a procession to the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with final expenses are requested to be sent in care of Church of God, 134 Maryland Avenue, Crisfield, Maryland 21817.

Arrangements are in the care of Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield.
