Frances was the daughter of David Denison and Anna Paine. (The last name is most often spelled Dennison but on her parents headstones here it is Denison).

On Jan 25, 1815 in Guildhall, VT she married Sylvester Welles Cone, son of Major Jared Cone, Jr and Elizabeth Welles. They made their home in Columbia, NH.

Their children were Elizabeth Jane, Sarah Ann, George Dennison, Ann Caroline, Susan, David Dennison, Sylvester Welles Jr, Francis M, and John Paine.

Her husband, Sylvester, died on Feb 18, 1838 in Columbia, NH. After his death she took the younger children to the home of her brother, John Paine Dennison, also her birthplace, the old Dennison farm at Guildhall, VT, across the Connecticut river and a few miles further south than Columbia.

She was predeceased by daughter Sarah Ann on Jul 17, 1819 in Columbia, NH at 3 months old; and husband, Sylvester, on Feb 18, 1838 in Columbia, NH.

She was also predeceased by son George Dennison Cone. The North America Families History listed his death date as Nov 8, 1844, but this was incorrect. His probate was started on Sep 3, 1844 in Guildhall, VT. His sister, Elizabeth Jane along with Henry L. Watson, were the administrators for his probate. They were also the administrators of Frances's probate which wasn't started until Nov 29, 1844; and on Dec 14, 1844 they were appointed administrators of Ann Catherine Cone's probate. She was Frances's daughter (and Elizabeth Jane's sister) who died four days after her mother on Nov 2, 1844.

After Frances's death sons David Dennison and Sylvester Welles selected John Paine Dennison (Frances's brother) as their guardian. They were 16 and 14, respectively. Elizabeth was 27 years old and not married yet. Susan was 18 and married the following year on Jun 26, 1845 to Michael Carleton (so by the time the probates were finished she was listed as Susan Carleton). Son Francis M. was almost 12 and in 1850 he was living in Stewartstown with his Aunt Elizabeth "Betsey" in the house of Hiram Martin. (In 1860 Betsey was living in her brother Jared's home in Columbia, NH but Francis was no longer with her). I can't find him after that yet. Son John Paine was only 8 (although listed in Frances's probate as 10). By 1850 he was living in Stratford, NH in the household of Elisha & Huldah Baldwin. A little later he moved to his sister, Susan's home in Haverhill, NH, attended Haverhill Academy, apprenticed for a Printer, then in 1857 he moved to Kansas. (His brother's David and Sylvester were already there and operating a paper, The Sumner Gazette, although they didn't know anything about printing. John took over running the paper; David moved to Washington, D.C., and Sylvester joined the railroad). Her brother John Paine Dennison joined them with his family before the 1870 census, moving there from Lancaster, NH after he returned from the Civil War.

The only children I can not find where or when they died are Francis M. and Sylvester Welles Jr.

Age: 49yrs

NOTE:
There is not a headstone here for Frances or son George. Only daughter Ann got a headstone. It is in the row with Frances's parents. There is space around Ann's stone where they were buried. There may have once been stones, or in all the stress of handling these three deaths all at the same time they didn't end up getting stones, or there wasn't the money for them.
